Phonics workshop

“For many children, practising the ability to recognize sounds in words can make a big difference in how fast they learn to read.”
Children are made readers on the laps of their parents. Phonics is recommended as the first strategy that children should be taught in helping them learn to read.
Pre Primary department of HIS Guindy organized a Phonics workshop for Pre Primary parents on January 19 Saturday. The hands-on action-oriented workshop provided the parents with specific information, direct activities involving them.
Basic Phonics – Level 1 was done by Prekg and Junior kg teachers with alphabet cards, content pictures and phonics songs.
Phonics Level 2 was done by Senior kg teachers which included blends, segmenting, digraphs and diphthongs with PPTs, placards and other digital aids.
It was an interactive and engaging session for the parents and kids as well.
