Robotics for School Students are designed in a way to start from basic concepts and build as they learn. Students also build structures practically while learning the concepts and this gives the right mix of learning and fun.
Robotics helps students to understand how science and technology is impacting the world through innovative implementation.
HIS, Karapakkam students are developing their skills not only in academics but also in exploring beyond the classrooms and are made ready to think out of the box.
BVMi school organized “ROBOTIXS MAKER FEST-2018” at BVMi International school, Bollineni Hillside, Sithlapakkam,Chennai. HIS, Karapakkam students of Grade 4, 5 and 6 participated and won the Fourth place.
The Contest started at 9.00A.M in the Morning and on the spot topic was given to the children to make the model within the given time.
Each team was given a different set of problem and they had to create a Model as a solution to that. For example – ‘To create a Boat’, ‘Breaking an egg’, ‘A building which can withstand earthquake’. Very simple everyday use materials were given, like straws, cardboard, cello tape, thermocol etc to prepare the model
Final testing was done by floating the boat in the water which shouldn’t sink, Dropping the egg twice, and an artificial earthquake was created. All the Models were tested and then the results were announced based on the testing.
Our students innovatively created their models and learnt many more ideas by coming across the models of other participating schools. They explored new methods to approach the same problem. These kind of Inter-school competitions help the children to express their talents along with problem-solving skills. It gives them good exposure and widens their area of experimentation.
