Inter-House Quiz Competition

Participants : Students of Margaret Thatcher, Nelson Mandela, Abraham Lincoln, and Mahatma Gandhi Houses (Categories A, B & C) with Executive Director Lt. Gen. Bobby Mathews,  Principal Dr. Lalli Mam, and Teachers Ms. Anila, Ms. Ashwaty, Ms. Anita, Mr. Isaac, and Mr. Jaswanth.

Objective of the Event

  • To promote healthy competition and active learning among students.
  • To enhance knowledge across multiple subject areas such as space, history, general awareness, and world capitals.
  • To develop quick thinking, teamwork, and confidence in participants.
  • To identify top performers who will represent HIS–Guindy in the upcoming Inter-School Quiz Competition.

Welcome and Introduction

The event began with a warm welcome to Principal Dr. Lalli and Executive Director Lt. Gen. Bobby Matthews. Students from all four houses assembled with enthusiasm. The Quiz Masters, Ms. Anila and Ms. Ashwaty, introduced the structure of the competition and the participating teams across Categories A, B, and C.

The quiz was conducted in four rounds:

  • Knowledge Round
  • Rapid-Fire Round
  • Audio-Visual Round
  • Buzzer Round

Questions were framed from a variety of disciplines, ensuring wide-ranging intellectual engagement.

Highlights of the Event

Active Participation

  • Students showcased excellent teamwork and competitive spirit.
  • Audience participation was high, with unanswered questions being passed to them.

Score Keeping & Technical Support

  • Anita efficiently maintained the scoreboard throughout the event.
  • Audio and visual support were provided by Isaac and Mr. Jaswanth, ensuring smooth coordination.

  3. Mahatma Gandhi House – 36 points
  4. Abraham Lincoln House – 10 points

Category B (Grades 6 & 7)

  1. Abraham Lincoln House – 66 points(1st Place)
  2. Mahatma Gandhi House – 37 points
  3. Margaret Thatcher House – 29 points
  4. Nelson Mandela House – 22 points

Category C (Grades 8 & 9)

  1. Abraham Lincoln House – 56 points(1st Place)
  2. Mahatma Gandhi House – 37 points
  3. Nelson Mandela House – 15 points
  4. Margaret Thatcher House – 15 points

All winning participants were awarded chocolates as a token of appreciation.

Upcoming Event – Inter-School Quiz

  • The best performers from each category will represent HIS–Guindy in theInter-School Quiz Competition scheduled for Tuesday, 16 December 2025.
  • The competition will include students from HIS Guindy, HIS Karapakkam, and HIS Padur, hosted at the Guindy campus.
