8th KESPA–HITS Open Inter School and Collegiate Swim Meet
The 8th KESPA–HITS Open Inter School and Collegiate Swim Meet was successfully conducted on 21st and 22nd February 2026 at the Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science, Chennai. The prestigious event was organized by the Kerala Sportspersons Association (KESPA) in association with HITS.
The two-day meet witnessed enthusiastic participation from several reputed schools and colleges. Competitions were conducted across various age categories, featuring events such as Freestyle, Breaststroke, Butterfly, and Individual Medley. The event served as an excellent platform for young swimmers to showcase their talent, discipline, and competitive spirit.
Inaugural Function
The Inaugural Ceremony was held on 21st February 2026 at 7:30 AM.
The function was graced by distinguished dignitaries:
- Birathiviraj IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Greater Chennai Corporation – Chief Guest
- Shri T. Chandrasekaran, Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Aquatic Association – Guest of Honour
- W. I. Davaram IPS (Retd.), Patron – KESPA & Former DGP – Tamil Nadu – Presided over the function
The dignitaries encouraged the participants to uphold the spirit of sportsmanship and strive for excellence.
HIS GUINDY CAMPUS – ACHIEVEMENTS
We are proud to share the outstanding performance of our students from HIS Guindy Campus:
Sam Wilson – Grade 8 (Group III)
- Gold Medal – 50m Breaststroke
- Gold Medal – 50m Butterfly
- Silver Medal – 50m Freestyle
- Silver Medal – 200m Individual Medley
- Silver Medal – 100m Freestyle
Total: 2 Gold Medals & 3 Silver Medals

Sam delivered an exceptional and consistent performance across all events, demonstrating remarkable endurance and technical skill.

- Bronze Medal – 50m Butterfly
- Silver Medal – 100m Freestyle

- 4th Place – 50m Freestyle
Total: 1 Silver Medal & 1 Bronze Medal

Jovic showcased strong determination and competitive spirit, performing commendably in all his events.
Valedictory Function
The Valedictory Ceremony was conducted on 22nd February 2026 at 4:45 PM.
The ceremony was graced by:
- Shri Santhosh N. Chandran IRPS, Principal Chief Security Commissioner, Ministry of Railways, ICF – Chief Guest
- Muthukumar Subramanian, Registrar, Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science – Guest of Honour
- Ashok Verghese, Patron – KESPA & Pro Chancellor – HITS – Presided over the function
The winners were felicitated with medals and certificates during the ceremony. The event concluded successfully, promoting aquatic excellence and encouraging young swimmers to aim for higher achievements.
