Event Overview
Hindustan International School, Guindy, proudly celebrated its 10th Annual Sports Meet 2026–27, showcasing the values of discipline, determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. Sankar Komaleeswaran, Chairman of the All India Football Federation Referees, as the Chief Guest, alongside the distinguished members of the school management, faculty, parents, and students.
The celebrations commenced with the Assembly of Athletes, followed by the arrival of the Chief Guest, Tamil Thai Vazhthu, Welcome Address, School Flag Unfurling, School Anthem, and an impressive March Past led by the Student Council and the four school houses. The synchronized marching displayed remarkable discipline, unity, and pride, reflecting weeks of dedicated preparation.
A significant highlight of the ceremony was the Lighting of the Sports Torch, symbolizing hope, unity, perseverance, and the pursuit of excellence. The ceremonial torch was passed through distinguished student sportspersons before the Sports Captains administered the Sports Oath, reaffirming the commitment to honesty, fairness, discipline, and true sportsmanship. The Chief Guest then officially declared the Annual Sports Meet open, marking the commencement of the athletic events.
The audience was enthralled by vibrant performances from students, including the Grade 1 & 2 Pom-Pom Drill, an energetic Karate Display, and the Grade 3–5 Drill Performance, each showcasing creativity, coordination, confidence, and teamwork. The ceremonial events concluded with the commencement of the athletic competitions, where students competed with enthusiasm, resilience, and sporting spirit.
The Closing Ceremony celebrated the remarkable achievements of the participants through the felicitation of the Chief Guest, an inspiring address, and the distribution of trophies and prizes. Awards were presented for individual championships, best athletes, house decorations, discipline, March Past, and the coveted Overall Championship Trophy. The event concluded with the Vote of Thanks, extinguishing of the Sports
Torch, lowering of the School Flag, National Anthem, and the formal declaration of the Sports Meet closed, leaving every participant inspired to continue striving for excellence.
