Doctor’s Day Celebration

Introduction :

The event aimed to honour the invaluable contribution of Doctors to society and to instil awareness among students about health and well-being. We were privileged to have Dr. G. Dharani Sudha, MD, D.F.M (RCGP, U.K), PGDHSc (Diabetology), Senior Assistant Professor at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital & MMC, Chennai – 03, as our esteemed guest. Dr. Dharani Sudha delivered an inspiring and insightful speech on the importance of a healthy lifestyle, which was well-received by the students and staff alike.

Activities :

The celebration was marked by a variety of creative and thoughtful student-led activities:

  • Grade 8 students presented a skit focused on raising awareness about health and preventive care, highlighting common health misconceptions and promoting good practices.
  • Grade 6 and 7 students warmly greeted Dr. Dharani Sudha with handmade Doctor’s Day greeting cards, expressing their gratitude and admiration. 
  • Grade 1 students enthusiastically set up a Doctor’s Check-up Booth, role-playing doctors and patients, which added a fun and interactive element to the day. 
  • Grade 2 and 3 students hosted a creative “Doctor’s Café”, offering displays of healthy food choices, educating their peers about nutritious eating habits. 
  • Grade 4 and 5 students conveyed the Doctor’s Day message using hand gloves as props, symbolizing the healing touch and care doctors provide.

Conclusion :

The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a token of appreciation presented to Dr. Dharani Sudha for her presence and inspiring words. The Doctor’s Day celebration successfully combined learning, creativity, and gratitude, leaving students more informed and appreciative of the role of healthcare professionals in our lives.
