Dunamis 2019

Sports meet is the place where students learn hand on about the need to abide by the rules. Teamwork, fair play and respect for others.

Hindustan International School, Guindy hosted the Third Inter School Athletic Meet Dunamis 2019 on the 16th of February, 2019 at Hindustan International School, Karapkkam, Chennai. Track and field events were mainstream events. Around 450 students from 27 schools participated in the event under 4 category (Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, Under 16) boys and girls separately. DUNAMIS (A Greek word meaning-miraculous inherent power) Interschool Athletic Meet 2019 was inaugurated and presided over by our Honorable Chief Guest Lt Gen Bobby Mathews, PVSM, AVSM**, VSM(RETD) Joint Director, Hindustan Group of Schools. 100-metre hurdles were the inaugural event of the day which was won by Joell Nichole, star athlete of HIS Guindy for Under 16 Girls category.

The Chief Guest for the valedictory Function in the afternoon was Honorary Consul General of El Salvador, South India Dr.Yashwanth Kumar Venkataraman.

Individual championships were awarded for boys and girls category separately.
Overall trophy and the cash reward of Rs.10,000 was won by Lalaji Memorial Omega International School(CBSE) with 187 points. KC High school with 72 points were the runners-up who also walked away with the cash reward of Rs.5000.

Joell Nichole from HIS Guindy was the Individual Champion for Under 16 Girls category. HIS Guindy bagged 3 Gold, 4 Silver and 1 Bronze medal in the event.

Special events were conducted for the privileged children which evidently substantiates our founder’s motive
“To make every man a success and no man a failure.”

Best athlete (girl U16): Joell Nichole – HIS Guindy – 36 pts
