Summary of the Session:

On 25th March 2026, students from Grade 1, Grade 2, and Grade 5 were taken on an educational field trip to the Government Museum in Egmore, Chennai. The purpose of the visit was to enhance students’ understanding of history, art, and culture through real-life observation of ancient artifacts.

Learning Experience

The museum visit provided a rich and interactive learning experience for the students. They explored various galleries that displayed:

Stone Monuments and Sculptures:

Students observed ancient stone carvings and statues. They learned how people in earlier times used stone to create durable monuments and religious sculptures. Teachers explained the significance of these structures and how they reflect the lifestyle and beliefs of ancient civilizations.

Bronze Artifacts:

The bronze gallery fascinated students with its detailed statues and artistic craftsmanship. They understood how bronze was used to create idols and decorative items, and how skilled artisans contributed to preserving culture through their work.

Ancient Coins:

Students showed great interest in the collection of old coins. They learned about trade, economy, and rulers of ancient times by examining different types of coins made from various metals. This helped them connect history with real objects.

Artworks by Artists:

The art galleries displayed paintings and creative works by various artists. Students appreciated different styles, colors, and themes, which helped develop their creativity and understanding of artistic expression.
