Induction Programme 2026
The Induction Programme for newly recruited educators across the Hindustan Group of Institutions was conducted on 27 May 2026 at Hindustan International School, Guindy. The programme brought together new staff members from the HIS campuses at Guindy, Karapakkam, Padur, and Padappai.
The programme commenced with an invocation by the Hindustan International School, Guindy team, setting a positive and inspiring tone for the day. This was followed by the introduction of the newly appointed educators by Ms. Bharathi Lakshmi, Principal, HIS Karapakkam.
The induction programme was graced by the presence of our visionary Chairman, Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Executive Director Lieutenant General Bobby Mathews, Dean of Academics Mr. Johnson Mathew, Principals from all four campuses, and academic Coordinators. The Chairman addressed the gathering and shared his vision for excellence in education, emphasizing the values, culture, and commitment expected from every educator within the institution.
The academic sessions began with “Measures of Effective Teaching” conducted by Mr. Johnson Mathew, Dean of Academics. The session highlighted the qualities and practices of effective educators and focused on strategies that promote student learning and engagement.
This was followed by an insightful session on Design Thinking by Executive Director Lieutenant General Bobby Mathews, who emphasized innovation, creativity, problem-solving, and the importance of adopting a learner-centred approach in education.
Dr. Lalli, Head of School, HIS Guindy, conducted a session on the Cambridge Curriculum Framework, providing participants with valuable insights into the Cambridge teaching and learning approach and its implementation in the classroom. Ms. Bharathi Lakshmi, Principal, HIS Karapakkam, then led a session on Teacher–Student Rapport, highlighting the significance of building positive relationships that foster trust, motivation, and academic success.
Ms. Susan George, Principal, HIS Padur, conducted a session on School Procedures and Routine, familiarizing the new educators with institutional practices, expectations, and operational procedures.
A session on QS I Gauge Requirements and Preparation was delivered by Ms. Seema Shakthivel, CIDTL Coordinator, HIS Guindy. The session provided an overview of quality standards, documentation requirements, and preparation processes necessary for maintaining academic excellence.
The Registrar Dr. P Deva Kumar session focused on the Role of Teachers in Upholding Academic Integrity and Institutional Standards, emphasizing professional responsibility, ethical practices, and adherence to school policies.
The programme included lunch and tea breaks, providing opportunities for interaction, networking, and collaboration among educators from the various campuses. At the conclusion of the induction programme, Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chairman, recognized and appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the newly inducted educators. Special awards were presented to the Most Active Participants and Best Attired Educators from each of the four campuses—Guindy, Karapakkam, Padur, and Padappai. This gesture added a celebratory touch to the event and encouraged active engagement, professionalism, and a sense of belonging among the participants.
Overall, the induction programme was highly informative and beneficial. It provided the newly joined educators with a comprehensive understanding of the institution’s vision, academic expectations, policies, and best practices. The sessions equipped participants with valuable knowledge and insights, enabling them to begin their professional journey with confidence and clarity.
