Pongal Celebration

Pongal is here, an occasion that marks joy and cheer, and brings along everything that’s best.
It was a day of tradition, entertainment and fun filled excitement at HIS Guindy for the Pongal eve. It began with a melody of songs by the Airtel Super singers Sai Vignesh and Yaazhini on stage, followed by traditional preparation of “Sarkarai Pongal” by the teachers. Students from Grade 4 to 6 performed folk dance, a rhymes competition was conducted for Jr and Sr KG children. Thirukkural competition was conducted for students of Grade 3 and 4 and students from Grade 4 to 7 participated in a Rangoli competition conducted house wise.
Children played the traditional “Uriadi” game followed by the “Tug of war” game, totally enjoying throughout the day, Sweet Pongal and sugarcane were distributed to students. Here are some of the exciting moments at a glimpse.
