World Autism Awareness Day 2026

Objectives
Raise awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), promote inclusivity, debunk myths, and foster empathy as per Cambridge learner attributes (responsible, engaged). Align with school discipline policy and QS I-GAUGE social responsibility criteria.
Event Highlights
- ● 8:30 AM Assembly: Speech by Ms.Cynthia, blue badges pinned on the entire students community and the teachers. Grade 5 students confidently led the morning assembly, showcasing Cambridge learner attributes of engaged and responsible citizenship through their educational presentation on autistic children’s characteristics:
- ● Ritualistic Behaviour: Charts explained routines and sameness preferences.
- ● Common Actions & Meanings: Visuals decoded stimming, sensory seeking.
- ● Communication Style: Covered echolalia, literal interpretations, AAC tools.
- ● Social Responsibility: Emphasized empathy, patience in interactions.
- Inspiring Examples: Students highlighted celebrities—Ranveer Saini (artist), Tito Mukhopadhyay (author), Elon Musk (innovator)—demonstrating how neurodiversity fuels extraordinary skills and success.
- ● Grade 9 Skit on Inclusion: Dramatic portrayal of peer acceptance, modeling confident advocacy.
The message is deeply rooted through student-led delivery—95% engagement observed. Primary students created inclusive posters; middle school rally reinforced innovative expressions.
Alignment: Supports QS I-GAUGE Social Responsibility (SR) criteria and CIDTL inclusive teaching principles.
