National Space Day

On National space day, KCG College of Technology organized a series of engaging activities that highlighted the wonders of space exploration and aviation. The event aimed to educate and inspire students about space science and technology. The visit to the Space Centre was the highlight of the day. The Space Centre provided an immersive experience into the world of space exploration. Students were explained about the working of satellites. The flight simulation activity provided students with hands-on experience of piloting an aircraft. In addition to the flight simulation, demonstrations on the working of flight were conducted. A quiz competition was also conducted to test the students’ knowledge of space science and aviation.

A key highlight of the event was the special guest speaker from the Indian Space Research Organisation, Mr. K. Radha Krishnan, Scientist from ISRO, whose presentation was both informative and inspiring. The keynote speech covered the following topics: who delivered an engaging speech on various topics related to space exploration and aviation.

The following topics were addressed in his talk to the students

  • What is a rocket? (working and use of rockets)
  • Types of satellites
  • Chandrayaan-3 Mission (purpose, technical details and achievements and challenges)
  • Future missions
  • Scope for students in Space technology

The following students participated in the quiz competition and won cash prizes

Keshav Rajesh – XI A (2nd Prize)

Gautham Vanan – XI A ( 3rd prize)

CONCLUSION:

The National Space Day event at KCG College successfully combined educational content with interactive experiences. The event provided students with a comprehensive understanding of space and aviation. The activities were inspiring and created interest and enthusiasm for science and technology among students.

We had various competitions and deliberations on the day at school ,which engrossed and got the students interested in Space related queries and the study.
