Pongal Carnival Celebration

Pongal Carnival was organized at Hindustan International School, Karapakkam on Saturday 12th January 2019 with much gusto and enthusiasm. The Celebration started with an invocation to the almighty. The melodious tunes of villupaattu set the tune of the day and filled the air with joy and festivity. The dialogues during the villupaattu brought out the importance of maintaining environmental sanctity.

Speeches in English and Tamil highlighting the importance of the festival by the students of class V. Melodious rendition of songs by classes 1,2,3 and 4 added divine grace to the celebration. Parents participated in kolam competition and won prizes. The Prize winners are Mrs.Shanmuga Priya, followed by Mrs.Kanimozhi, and Mrs.Manju.

Students and Parents participated in uriyaddi, the customary pot breaking ceremony which culminates the day’s event. The winners of the event are Jishnu and Santhosh of Grade-5. The celebration ended with a vote of thanks. It was indeed a memorable day.

Sweet Pongal was distributed to all the students.
