SPORTS DAY 2026

Hindustan International School, Karapakkam, celebrated its 9th Annual Sports Meet with great enthusiasm and grandeur on 25 July 2026, bringing together students, parents, faculty, and distinguished guests for a memorable celebration of athletic excellence, teamwork, and perseverance.

The event was graced by Mr. K.B. Arun Karthik, Indian Cricketer, former IPL wicketkeeper-batsman, as the Chief Guest. The occasion was also honoured by the presence of Lt. Gen. Bobby Mathews, Executive Director and Mr. Johnson Mathew, Dean – Academics, whose presence added significance to the celebration and inspired students to strive for excellence in every sphere of life.

The Sports Meet commenced with a spectacular march past, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the Olympic torch and the oath-taking ceremony, symbolising discipline, unity, and the true spirit of sportsmanship. Students from various grades participated with remarkable enthusiasm in a series of track and field events, demonstrating determination, resilience, and healthy competition throughout the day.

Adding vibrancy to the celebration were captivating cultural performances, including the delightful HISTAR Kite Drill, energetic dance presentations, and a lively school band performance during the valedictory ceremony, reflecting the school’s commitment to nurturing talent beyond academics.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. K.B. Arun Karthik encouraged students to pursue their sporting aspirations with discipline, dedication, and perseverance, emphasising that the values learned through sports contribute significantly to personal growth and success.

The event also reflected the visionary leadership of Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chairman, Hindustan Group of Institutions, whose unwavering commitment to holistic education continues to strengthen the institution’s sporting culture. The recently developed sports infrastructure, including the magnificent playground and modern sporting facilities, provided an exceptional venue for the event, offering students a world-class environment to discover and develop their athletic potential.

The celebration concluded with the prize distribution ceremony, recognising individual champions, winning houses, and outstanding performers for their exceptional achievements. The lowering of the Sports Flag and the National Anthem marked the formal close of the meet, bringing to an end a day filled with determination, celebration, and the true spirit of sportsmanship.
