Student Council

Students have a voice and a contribution to make to their school. It is important that they be given the opportunity to express their views on issues of concern to them in the school. It is equally important that they are listened to and encouraged to take an active part in promoting the aims and objectives of the school. Student councils provide a representative structure through which students can debate issues of concern and undertake initiatives of benefit to the school and the wider community.

HIS, Karapakkam nominated its second student council members in the first week of July. The Election Committee was chaired by the Principal. The nominated members were informed of the rules of election and they had the opportunity to present themselves to the whole student body in speeches on Election Day. Voting took place on Friday, the 13thof July, 2018 and was strictly confidential.

The results were announced on Monday, 16th July, 2018. Head girl Devansh and Head boy Nakshatra addressed the students after the announcement. It was a jubilant accession. We await the investiture ceremony where our newly elected council members will take their oath and embark on the journey to set a good example for the entire school. This includes uniform, behavior, attitude, and grades. This is the most important piece of being a student council officer.

May God be their guide as they learn important life and leadership skill through this role.

We wish them all the best!!
