Birla Planeterium -Grades 1 & 2

Students of grades 1 &2 visited the Birla Planetarium, one of the most prominent centres for astronomy and space science education in Chennai. The field trip aimed to give students a deeper understanding of the universe, its stars, planets, and other celestial bodies through an interactive and educational experience.

Highlights:

  1. Sky Show: The children watched an awe-inspiring sky show on the domed ceiling, which took us on a journey through the solar system, explaining the movement of planets, stars, and constellations. The show was incredibly engaging, combining 3D visuals with explanations that were easy to follow for students of all ages
  2. Exhibits on Space Exploration: They explored the various interactive exhibits, which showcased the history of space exploration, from the first moon landing to the latest space missions. Models of rockets, satellites, and space stations helped us understand how scientists work in space.
  3. Solar System Models: There was a detailed model of the solar system that displayed the relative sizes and orbits of the planets. It was a great way for students to visualize the positions of planets and understand their motion around the sun.
