Sand Sculpting Contest-2019

Sand Sculpting Contest-2019 was organized by Eco-Club collaborated with Sathyabama University, on 10th Feb 2019 at Palavakkam Beach, Chennai. More than 300 Teams participated in this contest, among them our Hindustan International School, Karapakkam team, participated and won the Cash Prize of Rs.7500. The winners are Ms.Kavya Vijay, Ms.Simran, Ms.Prabhaleen kour, Ms.Sushma Sree, Ms.Nayonika.

Once the theme – “Turtles and Seashore” was announced, each team jumped into action using buckets, shovels, and props to transform the blank sand canvases into the desired shape.

HIS, Karapakkam team wonderfully depicted how plastic in the ocean affects sea turtles when they depositing their eggs in the sand which most of the times is fatal.

This simple but exciting activity not only brought out the creativity of our students, which is highly commendable but also brought awareness and their responsibility to save nature as it was intended by God at creation.
